Who we are

The Liar ("we," "us") is a podcast and nonprofit exploring self-deception, trauma, addiction, shame, grief, and honesty. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@theliarproject.org.

What we collect

Contact form submissions. When you use our contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, email address, the reason you selected (such as recommending a guest or sharing your journey), and your message. Form submissions are processed by Formspree (Formspree, Inc.), which delivers them to our inbox. Formspree's handling of your data is described in its own privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

Technical data. Our website is served by Cloudflare, which may process technical information such as your IP address and browser type in server logs for security, performance, and abuse prevention. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers when a page loads. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We do not run advertising or advertising trackers on this site.
We do not set analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

How we use your information

We use contact submissions only to respond to you and to follow up on the reason you wrote — booking a guest, exploring a partnership, coordinating volunteering, processing support, or hearing your story. If you share your personal journey with us, we treat it as confidential. We will never publish, reference, or share your story publicly without your explicit permission.

Data retention

We keep correspondence as long as needed to respond and maintain our records, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. You may request deletion of your messages at any time by emailing us.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theliarproject.org and we will respond promptly.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
